Creature of the Night by Sarah Ashley

This creature of the night,

Lies down by my side,

Waiting for his evening to come.

The moon shines on,

As the evening is here,

Bringing me out of my sleep.

I look and see,

I see him smiling,

No reflection anywhere to be found.

“Mirror, oh, mirror, tell me why, you do not reflect his image?”

“Dear sweet child, this creature you see, has no soul to reflect.”

In brilliant moonlight,

The time grows near,

The time to take what he seeks.

This creature of the night,

Lies down by my side,

Waiting for our evening to come.

Till death do us part,

In chains and in blood.

Now both together,

Blood bound forever,

Immortals fiends of the night.
